midnight countdown

A few minutes ago, around midnight, Willie and I were sitting here chatting and all the sudden from the boys room we hear Matthew say "5,4,3,2,1.....blast off" out of the blue, while he was asleep.  It was all we could do not wake them both with our laughter.

Strep

I think this has been the L O N G E S T Saturday ever.  We took Kimber to the doctor yesterday because he was feeling very bad, come to find out he has strep.  Poor guy is miserable.  I swear he has cried more in the last 48 hours than he has in the previous 18 months.  Really hoping this passes quickly and that my happy little man returns.

I do it...myself

And he did. Last weekend we went on a short hike with the boys and Matthew hiked with a purpose the whole way, all while carrying his own backpack.

4th of July

A busy fun 4th of July weekend was had by all.  Baseball, fireworks, hanging with friends and celebrating our incredible freedom.

The boys in their new shirts

 Very into the game
 Sharing...how nice
It was a little weird to see the stadium this full

Strawberry Pickin'

A few days...weeks...months ago my little monkeys and I met some friends for some strawberry picking and had an awesome time.  I am almost positive they ate as many strawberries in the field as we brought home...and we brought home A LOT!!!

Alternative Therapy

Last night, for the first time...in a LOOONG time I went for a evening run, all by myself...no babies, no dog, no timeframe.  When I say LONG time I mean it.  It was awesome, if felt good, the air was coolish, it had just stopped raining, I had new tunes loaded on the iPod and I just ran and ran and ran.  4 miles worth in fact and actually felt like I could have done more had the mosquito poison truck not been bearing down on me.

The thing about running ALONE is you actually have time to think...understand and process some of the things going on in your life.  As much as I thought at my age I would have it "all figured out", I certainly don't and it is only in these brief moments that I gain a little perspective.

In the midst of this run I heard this song that I don't ever recall hearing and it was EXACTLY what I needed to hear.  Here are the lyrics....they truly do apply to all of us and gave me such a sense of peace and acceptance, which I desperately needed!

"Welcome To Wherever You Are"

Maybe we're different, but we're still the same
We all got the blood of Eden, running through our veins
I know sometimes it's hard for you to see
You come between just who you are and who you wanna be

If you feel alone, and lost and need a friend
Remember every new beginning, is some beginning's end

[Chorus]
Welcome to wherever you are
This is your life, you made it this far
Welcome, you gotta believe
That right here right now, you're exactly where you're supposed to be
Welcome, to wherever you are

When everybody's in, and you're left out
And you feel your drowning, in a shadow of a doubt
Everyones a miracle in their own way
Just listen to yourself, not what other people say

When it seems you're lost, alone and feeling down
Remember everybody's different
Just take a look around

[Chorus]

Be who you want to, be who you are
Everyones a hero, everyones a star

When you wanna give up, and your hearts about to break
Remember that you're perfect, God makes no mistakes
