Elfless
We don't participate in the Elf on the Shelf madness and I am beginning to wonder if we are the only people that don't? It seems like everyone is doing it, which has never been a motivating factor for me, but I hate to make my kids the outcast by association because we don't have an inanimate object dictating behavior around here.....thoughts?

Resist!!! I don't have one either. We do an advent calendar, and I think that focuses her thinking more on Jesus than on getting presents. I think it's cute, I just don't want to add ANOTHER Christmas thing. KWIM?
You're not alone, it is cute and trendy. But we don't have one either. I really don't think it's a good idea for us.
We don't do it, either. Of course, we don't celebrate CHristmas with Santa, so the elf would sort of be out of place.
Thanks girls, I knew I could count on some of my level-headed friends to make me feel better about my lack of hipness. I don't get the attraction at all. Laura, we too do an advent calendar and I wholeheartedly agree, a much better way to explain the significance of this month. No Santa huh Tracy, you are awesome!
