British Soccer Camp

We just finished our second summer of British Soccer Camp and this year Kimber got to play...even though he did not choose to do so very much.

Our coach was certainly not as amazing as our coach last year but the kids still had a lot of fun, well, as much fun as you can have running around in 95 degree weather..in Alabama..in June!

Cheap Tee

My little baseball fan started tee-ball a few weeks ago and we have known about this for awhile and I have tried hard to get him gear on my frugal budget.  Months ago I scored a tee-ball bat at the thrift store for 3 bucks, he already had a glove and I had decided to go buy a tee because I had not been able to find a previously loved one.  Off we went to Sports Authority and imagine my surprise when the price on the tee was $54.  WHAT?  No way was I paying that, surely there was a better option. 

That night, my not-always-so-frugal-husband made me proud.  A $12 expenditure at Home Depot followed by the sawing of PVC pipe in the living room (grrrr)  resulted in a functional tee that has been getting lots of play around here.

Kickin'

Matthew recently completed a week of British Soccer Camp and he LOVED LOVED LOVED it.  It was very hot and sunny but each morning we lathered him up in sunscreen and he happily trudged onto the field to hone his ball handling skills with six other tiny players.  I was impressed by the drills disguised as unique games with characters all little people recognize like Lightening McQueen and Shrek.  We went through A LOT of gatorade and water and Matt actually took a nap after the first day.  Kimber was an awesome sidekick and enjoyed being let in on the action periodically by the amazing Coach Mark.  We hope to make this an annual event.   A few booty-load of pics from our steamy week of camp.

After almost four years of living in Alabama, we as a family have chosen a team. Maybe not for a lifetime, but at least for this one game.

We will be rooting for ALABAMA tonight since they are up against those Longhorns.
