Pumpkin Patch 2009

We visited our first pumpkin patch recently and had a blast. The weather was completely gorgeous and Matthew had a great time petting bunnies, playing in corn, climbing on tractors riding a train and checking out pumpkins.

He thought climbing around in corn was pretty cool!!

Monthly Letter

I have made a deal with myself that I am going to write Kimber a letter each month during this first year to record his life during these crazy months. I also plan to include some of my favorite pictures each month as well. Hopefully this will enable those of you far away to learn about our little guy and be a part of his daily adventures.

Happy One Month Birthday Kimber

My sweet Kimber. It is hard for me to believe that you have already been home with us for a whole month. You are a sweet boy and love being held, you are an enthusiastic eater and are a pretty decent sleeper. You already show a preference for sleeping on your tummy, you tend to get super gassy at times which leads to the toots that are more like a man than a sweet little baby. In fact, you were in bed with Mama, Papa and Matthew the other night and you tooted and Matthew pointed at you and said "Toot Baby" and of course we all giggled. I weighed you this morning and was shocked to find out you already weigh 10 pounds, you are a growing boy. You look very much like your big brother did at this age though you do have the cutest little dimples and are starting to grow some tiny little rolls on your legs. You grunt when you stretch and it always makes me smile. Your big brother loves you and is constantly giving you kisses and hugs. When he wakes up each morning he says "Baby?" as if asking a question, he always wants to know where you are. In a few short weeks you have become a part of our hearts and we will never again be the same. We love you and look forward to the days, months and years ahead.

We are thrilled to present

KIMBER GREY RIGGLE

who joined us on 9-21-2009 at 7:24 AM CST

He weighed in at 8 lbs 3.5 ozs and was 21 inches long.


We had a scheduled c-section and while the birth experience involved much less drama, meeting our new little man was once again a breath-taking experience. He has a head full of red hair and looks very much like his proud big brother. Matthew is doing a wonderful job of being a big brother and loves giving kisses and hugs to Baby Kimber. Sleep is a hot commodity in our house but we both know how fast this time goes by and are trying to enjoy every moment.

Memories.....

As I am preparing to go into the hospital to meet my new little person I have been thinking about Matthew's birth and how completely life altering it was. I have said time and again that I thought my life was pretty great before I became a mommy and I continue to be surprised at how much better it got after Matthew's arrival.

One of my favorite memories in the hospital with Matthew was the first time Willie called down to the nursery and said these words...."Will you please bring my son to our room." I know, pretty ordinary words but me in my hormonal state got teared up hearing my husband of 9 years say those words.

My baby boy is almost a big brother....wow!!

Atlanta Adventures

Matthew, Muppet and I recently traveled to Atlanta to visit some good friends, the Williams family.

We both had a blast and enjoyed playing on their gorgeous new stone patio, splashing in the river, blowing bubbles and playing with trains.

Maternity - Family Photos 2009

Our lovely and talented neighbor took some amazing pictures for us over the weekend to commemorate this pregnancy. While it is hard for me to think I look "good" with the extra weight and truly massive belly I am quite pleased with the shots we got. We have less than 3 weeks until we meet the new little Riggle!!! I hope and pray this baby is a sweet as my little snuggle puppy Matthew is.....as you can see from my snuggling session at the end.
